On August 24, local beloved friend and author Ron Lampi made a peaceful transition from this life to the next with dear friends surrounding him. His last two years were challenging with the passing of his beloved partner Rhonda, followed by open heart surgery and a transition to life at Santa Cruz Post Acute rehabilitation center.
Ron often described himself as a “poet of place,” as many of his favorite writings celebrate intimate aspects of Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay. His passion for Santa Cruz and the evolution of consciousness was infectious. It was Ron’s goal to complete his 16-book voluminous work The Mythos in his lifetime, which he did not accomplish. Wherever he is, his soul can find satisfaction in having made a significant contribution through his writing that celebrated life and made the world a better place.
